What to Expect

At Science of Sound, we understand that having your children attend without knowing how the will day go can be difficult. To help, below is an itenary that outlines what a normal day at SOS would go:

First part of the day is Drop Off. There should always be a Science Of Sound Employee at the drop off point to register your attendance and answer any questions you have. If your child has any medications, please hand it over to staff with written instructions on how to use it.

You should have been notified when and where to drop your child off when booking, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Daily Exercise

Daily Exercises

After everyone is dropped off and registered, we guide them through daily exercises to get them more motivated and energized for the day ahead. This allows us to teach them about the various muscles in the body, and how to keep them safe while exercising and playing.

Activity Session

After morning exercise, we have that day’s activity. First, Professor P demonstrates the activity and the science behind it, then we let the kids try it themselves. So far, our activities have included:

Making glow-in-the-dark slime

Making egg carts

Museum trips

After everyone is cleaned up, we have lunch. At Science of Sound, normally children bring in their own packed lunch, but there is an option to have food provided by our group for an additional fee. When catering, we keep children’s health and wellbeing at the forefront of our minds the entire time, providing nutritious and flavourful meals for everyone.

If your child has any food they cannot consume, please notify our management team via email, and bring any medication they may need with them on the day.

Play Time

By this time, most of the children are energized and ready to run around, so we have Playtime. All of our venues have safe places to play and exercise, so the children can run around under the watchful eye of our staff. We have a first aid kit on site in case any accidents occur, and all staff are aware of the designated fire safety zone for all locations.

To finish the day off, we have pickup. Just like drop off, a Science of Sound Employee will be at the site to ensure your children go home safely. Please make sure to notify a Science of Sound employee when you and your child leave. We will notify you if any changes to the pickup location occur.

Please inform our staff if your child has alternate means of going home, e.g. by themselves, or with an adult that isn't their parent/carer, BEFORE PICKUP, so we can ensure your child is safe.

Please be aware that we aren't currently accepting bookings for our Eggs and Bunnies Easter Camp.

However, you are free to peruse the venues we've had in the past.

A Word About Our Locations

In the heart of the Science of Sound, we firmly believe that the right environment not only enhances the learning experience but also ignites the imagination of our young explorers. That’s why we embark on a meticulous journey to select venues that are not merely spaces but gateways to discovery and inspiration. Each venue, with its unique story, is chosen for its significance and ethos, reflecting our dedication to creating a rich, educational tapestry that resonates with the vibrancy of sound science.

Safety and safeguarding stand as our unwavering priorities. We delve into a rigorous vetting process for each venue, ensuring it aligns with our stringent standards for security and well-being. This commitment gives parents and guardians the peace of mind to trust in our care, knowing their children are exploring the wonders of science in environments that are not only stimulating but also secure.

Our ethos extends beyond the physical aspects of our locations. We cultivate strong relationships with organisations that mirror our values and principles, fostering a community united in the pursuit of making education accessible, engaging, and exciting. It's a collaborative effort that ensures our venues are more than just places—they are partners in the journey of learning.

From historic buildings that whisper tales of the past to contemporary spaces designed to spur innovation and creativity, our venues serve as the perfect backdrop for our science holiday camp activities, workshops, and events. Each one is a chosen setting where curiosity is nurtured and the joy of discovery is shared. Here, amidst the echoes of history and the pulse of modern technology, education transcends the ordinary, transforming into an adventure that captivates and educates in equal measure.

As we continue to expand our curriculum, introducing new modules to our already existing 200+ modules that delve into the realms of biology, chemistry, physics, and beyond, our venues keep pace, offering spaces where every experiment and exploration can unfold in the most conducive setting. Whether through holiday camps, workshops, parties, or field trips that range from the exhilarating to the purely fun, the essence of science is brought to life in locations that are carefully curated to enrich the learning experience. In and around London, we have chosen the best spots to host every fun science holiday camp and more!

In essence, the Science of Sound is more than just an educational programme—it's a journey into the heart of STEM, guided by a love for sound and a passion for discovery. Our venues are the stages upon which this journey unfolds, each one selected for its ability to inspire, educate, and safeguard the bright young minds who step through its doors. Here, amidst balloons, bubbles, slime, and the intricate structures of the human skeleton, (and more) science is not just learned; it's experienced, cherished, and remembered.
